On TBS TV show "HKT48 No Odekake" (dated 29 April 2015), HKT48 Theater Manager Sashihara Rino (指原莉乃) claimed she opposes AKB48 group Draft Meeting.
Sashihara Rino explained why she opposes AKB48 group Draft Meeting, first it is very harsh for an age 13 to 14 child moving home, she had the experience when she moved to Tokyo to be the member of AKB48.
In last AKB48 group Draft Meeting, Sashihara Rino chose Yamamoto Mao (山本茉央) because she is from (Fukuoka of) Kyushu.
Moreover Sashihara Rino said she is not a staff, she will graduate from the group one day, she can not be responsible for the draft member she picks.

She makes a good point it is rough for young members to have to move away from their family.
ReplyDeleteThe Draft is one of those things that sounds really good on paper but in practice just doesn't seem to work out. On one hand allowing the captains to pick new members for their teams based on what the captain think the team needs is a great idea. But then they end up having a team shuffle that completely reorganizes the team rosters and negates whatever that Draft member brought with them.
