Kawaei Rina (川栄李奈) will be leading actress of stage play "AZUMI Bakumatsu Hen" (AZUMI 幕末編), it was announced during her graduation ceremony at 2 August 2015.

AZUMI Bakumatsu Hen stage play is adapted from same name manga by Koyama Yu, AZUMI Bakumatsu Hen is sequel of AZUMI, AZUMI was adapted into movies Azumi in 2003 and Azumi 2: Death or Love in 2006, the story is about a female assassin Azumi at the end of the Edo period.

Holy...she looks real good as Azumi. And the overall cast and production value seems pretty high, too. It's really sad what happened to her during the handshake so I really hope this goes well for her!

ReplyDeleteAh, a pity it's a stage play, not a movie... I watched the first movie years ago, didn't even know there was a second (or that it came from a manga; thought it was just a simple movie). It would have been awesome to see Kawaei in it.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that Kawaei already has something important lined up already afetr her graduation. However, I think Rena also would have been a good option for Azumi.
